WTFisNFT?

Non-fungible tokens - another whim of the tech-obsessed influencers or a life changer for disadvantaged artists? Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/nft for full info.

Technodiversity

Technology doesn't follow a unique path of development. Rather, as the fundamental interface between us and the world, it is influenced by local beliefs, thoughts, and practices. As such, this call looks for works that propose native interpretations of technology. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/technodiversity for full info.

Rewind: Lets Press Play Together

This exhibition uses nostalgia, playfulness and outdated technologies to explore connectivity. Playfully looking at how individuals connect with themselves, one another, and society: how we engage with our individual and collective pasts, presents and potential futures. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/rewind for full info.

Tipping Point

Tipping Point is a listening session of new sound works which reflect our global health pandemic and environmental crisis. The event, scheduled for one day during FaB 2022, will be held in the Walcot Mortuary Chapel, a sacred space and art venue with links to the plagues that decimated the region in earlier centuries. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/tipping for full info.

Space

We invite artists to share their experiences of space using film or video in the context of a world in which the space around us has rarely been so measured, so protected, or seemed so vast - or so confining. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/space for full info.

16th FaB Photomarathon

It’s a simple challenge: submit 20 photos, in response to 20 themes, taken in the right order over 10h. Far more than that, the FaB Photomarathon takes you on a psychogeographical ramble, usually through the city of Bath, UK. Saturday 30 April 2022. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/photomarathon-2022 for full info.

Glitch

A glitch is a sudden malfunction, an often temporary side step, a brief irregularity, a false or spurious electronic signal… a broken circuit. Could this be divine intervention? Could a moment of clarity exist within the glitch? A chance for a pause and a reset. Are there such things as evolutionary glitches? and what do they look like? Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/glitch for full info.

The Coming of Age

Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s ‘Coming of Age’, artists are invited to examine youth and old age, the journey to adulthood, and cross-generational views of age. Work might be celebratory, political, drawn from literature or myth, or consider intergenerational relationships. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/age for full info.

seven seconds

Depending on context, seven seconds can seem a long or a short period of time. Time goes slower in a tense situation and can go quicker when you’re enjoying yourself. Artists in any media are invited to respond to the idea of seven seconds. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/seven for full info.

Performing Fluxus

The Fluxus Performance Workbook is a free online resource containing over 100 pages of scores, mostly from early 1960s that still feel fresh and funny today. I invite others to perform or produce scores from this book. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/fluxus for full info.

ConTEXTS

The ConTEXTS exhibition plays with words seriously. Words as text, sound or graphic elements. We welcome: single artists, collaborative artists, contributing curators. Including a series of events integral to the exhibition, to include music, poetry, discussion and performance. Visit fringeartsbath.co.uk/contexts for full info.
