Playground Oxford
We went to talk about FaB at Playground Oxford on Tuesday, invited by the CARU gang who took over the old phone shop for Fab 2014, on the corner of Cheap Street (Lee Riley who exhibited in Resonance and as part of CARU will be curating a show this year!)
With the Call-Out to Artists just round the corner this is a brilliant time to introduce what we do to new artists.
Playground is "an artist-led platform dedicated to supporting the development and presentation of new work while introducing a space for interaction, discussion and collaboration for artists and creative professionals in and around Oxford."
It was a great event to be part of, we joined Samuel C. Roberts who presented electric bass guitar sound pieces, created as soundtrack to a ghost train film we were invited to imagine, as licensing won't allow him to show any of the imags yet. Also listed was Craig Green with more sound, this time spoken words, sharing, recording and distoritng short stories.
There were also a few 'instant pot-noodle' moments, members of the audience making the most of a 1min hance to share their project, invitation to collaborate or just to declare something.
Playground takes place every other month, on the 4th Tuesday at the Old Fire Station in Oxford. Website: www.theplayground.org.uk Twitter: @PlaygroundOX
