'Like A Breach In Nature'

‘Like A Breach In Nature’

Call-out to Artists:

"Like A Breach In Nature," is a surreal, immersive art exhibition exploring alternate realities of the natural world. This exhibition invites artists to submit works that challenge the boundaries of nature, creating uncanny, otherworldly environments where nature is reimagined.

Works should delve into alternate ecologies, fantastical landscapes, and surreal representations of the natural world, inviting viewers into a space where reality and fantasy intertwine. The exhibition will take the form of an installation, offering a dynamic, immersive experience where different interpretations of nature’s "otherness" will come to life.

We are seeking art that engages with themes of escapism, transformation, and redefined relationships between humans, animals, and the environment. The exhibition title comes from from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, within this the exhibition seeks to disturb the boundaries of nature and evolution where we re-evaluate and see it re-imagined.

Curator Lily Foster-Eardley

Lilly Foster-Eardley is an Artist and curator based in Bath and is a recent graduate of Bath Spa University, completing a BA in Fine Art (Hons).

Foster-Eardley’s art practice delves into exploring and interpreting the intricacies of the natural world by sculpting animals and bringing them to life through stylised animation and sculpture. She draws parallels between the natural world and our 21st-century civilisation, like our adaptation to the lives we now lead, animals have followed, emphasising the FEATURE / FUTURE adaptation of wild creatures within the context of urbanisation. Through this multi-disciplinary practice, she explores an alternate reality where animals take on more human-like characteristics, adjusting their behaviour and their natural habitats to survive the dynamic environment dominated by humans.
